He studies information security and is interested in security problems related to big data/IoT, specifically with privacy concerns. He has developed systems including secure multi-party computation, personal-data anonymization, "Fine-grained encryption", "Cloud-managed-key Cryptographic Scheme", "privango" with NTT cryptography research team. Since he has joined NTT, he has been studying information processing technology. In the early days of World-Wide Web, he performed pioneering works on location-based search engines "i-Townpage", "Mobile Info Search", "kokono Search", and so on. He also contributes as a mediator between technology areas and social system areas, and worked for revising Japanese personal information protection law in 2015.
