The Gigabit Ethernet-PON system is an optical system that can economically provide up to 1 Gbit/s broadband access. In the past, when providing services such as Hikari Denwa, it was necessary to install multiple devices in the customer's home. However, with this ONU, network devices such as packaged VoIP-TA and broadband routers can be installed in the ONU, and UNI connection and power supply to the package can be provided inside the ONU. The above structure enhances usability with reduced wiring between network devices for FTTH. We will continue to develop ONUs with enhanced functionality and improved operability.

The GE-PON system can simultaneously provide best-effort Internet access and quality-guaranteed content distribution and VoIP, etc., by using bandwidth control and priority control technologies. The bandwidth control dynamically allocates transmission bandwidth of the access segment according to the subscriber's individual usage conditions, while the priority control preferentially transfers traffic requiring low latency such as VoIP. In the past, when providing services such as Hikari Denwa, it was necessary to install multiple devices such broadband and VoIP-TA, etc. in the customer's home. However, with this ONU, network devices such as packaged VoIP-TA and broadband routers can be installed in the ONU, and UNI connection and power supply to the package can be performed inside the ONU. The ONU has a slot structure that allows the installation of various network equipment packages. ONU can be supplied power to the packages installed in the ONU. The optical connector accommodation of the ONU has a tray-less structure that enables the ONU part to be made smaller. The ability to accommodate free bending cords reduces the time required for optical wiring.
In the future, we plan to develop additional functions for the ONU and to improve its operability.
