Biography

  • Dr. Norio Kumada received his Ph.D. in Science from Tohoku University in 2003.
    He joined Basic Research Laboratories in the same year.
    Since than he has been engaged in research on electronic properties in two-dimensional systems.
    He is currently the group leader of the Quantum Solid State Physics Research Group and a Senior Distinguished Researcher at Basic Research Laboratories.

Awards

  • 2008: Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan
  • 2012: Young Scientists'Prize from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
