モード同期レーザの隣接パルス間のキャリアエンベロープ位相(包絡線に対する光搬送波の位相:CEP)のスリップ量はキャリアエンベロープオフセット(CEO)と呼ばれる。近年のモード同期レーザ技術の著しい進展は、CEOの固定を可能とし、超短パルスレーザ電界の制御性を高度化した。また、モード同期レーザのCEO固定は、高確度光周波数コムの実現を意味し、光周波数計量に飛躍的進歩をもたらした。この超高確度な光周波数コムを小型化、高繰り返し化して、1本1本の光コムを個別に自在制御することが可能となれば、超精密分光や次世代コヒーレント通信等の新たな応用分野が飛躍的に広がる。そのためには、CEO固定に要するパルスエネルギーの低減が重要課題である。我々は、帯域1オクターブ以上のスーパーコンティニューム光発生の低エネルギー閾値化とCEO検出に必要な第二高調波発生の高効率化に着目し、高非線形分散シフトテルライトフォトニック結晶ファイバとPPLNリッジ導波路を使用した。その結果、従来記録600 pJを上回る、230 pJの低い入力パルスエネルギーでのCEO固定に成功した。
