YAMAGISHI, Kazuhisa

Biography

  • He received his B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tokyo University of Science in 2001 and M.E. degree in Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineering and Ph. D degree from Waseda University in Japan in 2003 and 2013. He joined NTT Laboratories in 2003. He has been engaged in subjective quality assessment of multimedia telecommunications and image coding. Currently, he is working on the quality assessment of multimedia services over IP networks. From 2010 to 2011, he was a Visiting Researcher at Arizona State University. He has been contributing to ITU-T Study Group 12 (SG12) on QoS, QoE, and Performance since 2005. He is a Rapporteur of Question 13/12 for 2017-2021 and 2022-2024 Study Periods, a Vice-Chair of Working Party 3 in SG12 from 2021 to 2023, a Chair of Working Party 3 in SG12 in 2023 and 2024, and a Vice-Chair of SG12 for 2022-2024 Study Period. He received the Young Investigators' Award (IEICE) in Japan in 2007, the Telecommunication Advancement Foundation Award in Japan in 2008, the ITU-AJ Encouragement Awards in 2017, and the TTC Award for Distinguished Service in 2018.
